Milan-style plate legs with kneecaps are an essential elements of the well-known "Avant Armour", dated by the 1450-1485 years.  This full-plate set was crafted in Corio workshop, Milano, and was belong to fon Matsch, the owner of Churburg Castle in 1445. Sabatons are the plate shoes, which appeared in the XIV century in Italy. Early models had quite long and sharp points. However, later models and these sabatons of the XVI century in particular, have wide and short points. Such metal foot wear as sabatons were mostly used by cavalry, as this armor was not too comfortable in fighting for dismounted soldiers. Legs' protection is the same important thing as protection of head and body. Mail stockings with chainmail or hauberk were the most popular armour among both infantry forces and horse cavalry. From the end of XIV century, mail armour had become to be displaced by plate armour. This model of classic mail stockings is being made of mild steel rings 2 x 10 mm. Type of butting is 4 rings in 1. Blued or stainless steel are also available for order in options. Gambeson and padded chausses will be a great addition to the mail stockings.
